We have assembled a multidisciplinary team of subject matter experts, healthcare practitioners, and legal professionals to help your organization meet its needs and goals. Our team brings diverse expertise to tackle complex Human Resources (HR) challenges. We prioritize a holistic approach to disability management, medical coordination, rehabilitation, and return-to-work – all while promoting employee health-and-wellness and advising on corporate preventative strategies. Our Chief Executive Officer
Our Chief Executive Office (CEO), Chris Walton, began his educational pursuit in Kinesiology at McMaster University in 1992. He then pursued graduate education at the University of Guelph where he studied Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Sciences, and Nutritional Sciences (theory and practice). Chris purposefully continued his educational quest, obtaining the Group Benefit Associate (GBA) designation (International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans [IFEBP]). He also specialized - and became certified - in various occupational health assessments (Ergonomics, Functional Abilities/Capacities Evaluation, Work-Site Analysis [WSA], Job Demands Analysis [JDA], Physical Demands Analysis [PDA], Cognitive Demands Analysis [CDA], In-Home/Activities-of-Daily-Living [ADL] Assessments, and Vocational Assessments).
Chris' professional journey spans over 25 years. He started to work in the clinical field at hospitals and rehabilitation clinics where he garnered a wide scope of clinical knowledge and experiences. Chris subsequently started to work for government ministries (operational branches), insurance companies, organizations/employers (public and private), and 3rd party management firms/vendors. He worked for many years on the front-lines as a Disability Claims Specialist and Case Manager, as a Disability Management Consultant/Specialist and Advisor, as a Functional/Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, and as an Accommodations Specialist. Chris has networked and established long-lasting relationships in this challenging and amazing industry.
Chris intentionally worked on many sides of the industry over many years. This was to ensure that he gained the knowledge, practice, and wisdom before creating and launching ViAbility - Absence Management Solutions. Partnering with the company Chief Operating Officer and working collaboratively with a team of case-management specialists and healthcare practitioners, ViAbility is prepared and equipped to provide total-absence-management-solutions for your organization.
